Description

Phoenix is a hardy palm and one of the most popular species. Its stem look quite similar to husk which has wide, dark green leaf base and covered with brown and small stringy hairs.

Its dark green fronds are divided and they have paler green colour stalks. The giant fronds grow in upward direction. It is known with also other names like canary island date palm, canary date palm and pineapple palm.

It requires full sunlight and likes to put its feet in sandy loam soil.
