Description
Alpinia is also known as Tahitian ginger and it has tabular flowers in droopy clusters. In the first 3 years, it does not produce any flower but later they grow a huge volleyball sized flowers which blooms for all the year.
Alpinia is not an edible ginger. They can reach up to 15 feet but its average height is 6-8 feet. Alpinia flowers are long lasting and can be shipped to distance. It needs fertile rich organic soil to grow and pruning is necessary because it controls the size of Alpinia.
