Dwarf chandni, usually called pinwheel flower, crape jasmine, East India rosebay and Nero’s crown is an evergreen bush local to India and now developed all through South East Asia.

In zones where it isn’t strong it is grown as a house/glasshouse plant for its alluring blooms and foliage. The stem radiates a smooth latex when broken, whence the name drain bloom in the Bengali dialect.

Description

The plant by and large develops to a tallness of 5– 6 feet (1.5– 1.8 m) and is dichotomously-extended. The substantial sparkling leaves are dark green and around 6 inches (15 cm) long and 2 inches (5.1 cm) in width. The waxy blooms are found in little bunches on the stem tips.

The (single) blooms have the trademark ‘pinwheel’ shape likewise observed in other genera in the family Apocynaceae, for example, Vinca and Nerium. Both single and twofold bloomed shapes are developed, the blossoms of the two structures being white.

The plant blossoms in spring however blooms show up sporadically all year. The blooms of the single shape are unscented yet the twofold blossomed frame has a satisfying scent.
